MTC

Hi friends, Ann and I just finished our 5 day training session at the Missionary Training Center in Provo.  We leave early Mon. morning for Croatia.  We had a fun week here, receiving great instruction and advice from mostly young returned missionaries.  They were very enthusiastic, talented, and inspiring.  They helped us understand that the key to our success will be a true desire to be of assistance to people, to be good listeners and try to really understand, and to basically learn to love them.  It is hard to describe the energy and feeling in this place, sort of a mini zion society, friendly, happy, devoted, trying to do good, positive, pretty cool atmosphere.  It gives you hope and renews your faith in the gospel of Christ.  I think that there are at least 2500 - 3000 young guys and girls with maybe a hundred or so older geezers like ourselves.  By the way, our old cableone.net email address no longer works.  Connect with us at babbelbird@gmail.com or garybabbel@gmail.com.  We love you and will hopefully soon have news from Croatia.  Gary and Ann
